This — the tuned MINI — is how I think of a BizOps function in a company.
BizOps powers organisations to drive outsized commercial outcomes.
In the SBO Hub, focus is on the tuning of the engine. What is the responsibility of BizOps? What should it deliver? To whom? And most importantly, how?
At its best, Strategy and Ops, or BizOps, acts as a strategic partner across the organization, providing data-driven strategy, optimising system operations, and fostering new growth initiatives. It helps leadership make informed decisions by providing a holistic view of the business, aligning strategies with execution, and incubating new opportunities for growth.
Every single initiative drives commercial results, in the short term or longer term. It is never presentations, workshops, or optimisations, for their own sake.
BizOps key stakeholder is the CEO. As such, Biz Ops has a great opportunity and a massive responsibility:
Align around a coherent strategy and plan, by developing clear company strategy(ies), and OKRs
Drive commercial outcomes by building and optimising company-wide systems
Unlock new areas of commercial growth by incubating new motions
