I have had lots of nicknames, but my favourite will be my nickname I earned in NYC. It was the time when you still had to call a restaurant to make a booking. As a diligent person I thought giving my full name was crucial. I used to go through the arduous process of calling, and as soon as the staff asked for “What’s the name for the booking?” I’d take a breadth and brace myself for the lengthy process of spelling letter by letter my full name, and then repeating it, and then some.
Then I found out that, no, you don’t have to use your name. It’s not like they card you. As long as you show up and say the code word - your booking name - they didn’t care. So…
Inspired by the way auto-correct and occasional human cognitive failure would transform my name, I started making reservations on the name of Vanessa.
Vanessa was fun, Vanessa was cool. Vanessa went to great restaurants and bars. Vessela on the other hand was a geek, working 16h days and knew nothing of 230 5th. Vanessa, it’s time to bring you back!
Today, Vanessa is reborn as my GPT! Take her for a spin. You can ask anything related to this blog, or problem-solving, and general strategy and operations insight. If you want to make sure she gives you an answer related to the blog, ask her to use her own resources.
She is not as great as having the real conversation. But she is trained on data from this blog, up to November 12th.
